This page offers advice about requesting a wildlife art painting commission.

As each of my works have a story and are inspired by specific animals or segments of history, if you would like a commission undertaken, please contact me on penmanart@gmail.com to discuss your ideas. Alternatively you may complete the form below.

I will require clear photographs of your desired subject matter. This can be sent to me via email or post.

Once we have discussed your requirements and desired medium, I will be able to quote you on the piece and supply you with an estimated completion date. During the creation of the piece, you will receive progress updates via email which will include photographs.

Please consider the following information I will require:

Dimensions of work. Will the work be framed, or do you prefer to keep it on the boxed canvas. If work is to remain on the original boxed stretched canvas, please be aware that shipping prices will be quoted according to the postal services delivery to your country of residence. The postage will include insurance, however, as customs regulations differ around the world, you would need to contact your customs officials to confirm that the wood on the stretched canvas would be allowed into your country.

I will need to know your budget and time frame when you would need the completed work on your doorstep.

As artists often say, they paint with their hearts, so for me to undertake a commission, I would need to feel a connection to what I am required to paint. Once this is established, I look forward to creating something unique and that you will love. Upon commencement of the piece, I would require a 50% deposit and the remaining 50% to be paid upon completion.

I look forward to hearing from you.

"Vanessa, a really big thank you for the portrait of our lion.  I could not believe how perfect it came out and already gave it to my husband, as I could not wait to share it with him.  Absolutely stunning.  It is very difficult to sketch/paint cats, and you have perfected it.  Whenever we see the male lions, we always say "hello, big boys", and as soon as I opened the portrait, my daughter said, wow wee, big boy.  She even recognized him in the portrait and loved it as well.  Again, thank you.  It is perfect!!!!!!!!"

A friend in South Africa who afforded me the honor of sketching a very special lion.

“Dearest Vanessa - wow! Your pictures are even more amazing in real life than on the photos. I was absolutely stunned when I opened the tube last night, and so was Linda.  Batian brought a lump to my throat - his eyes are so incredibly expressive!!! Linda was amazed at your talent. I shall be honoured to give these paintings, framed, to Adrian for his birthday and I shall be even more honoured to have them hanging on our wall!”
